Kodiak Field Services owns and operates only Genuine Geoprobe machines. We have three units currently in-house - a truck-mounted Geoprobe 6600, a track-mounted Geoprobe 6620DT, and a limited access rig advanced with a jackhammer.
Serious Probe Power
Both of our probe units are the newer generation 6600-series machines. With five-foot strokes, and over 32,000 pounds of down-force we drive our sample tooling to depths never before possible with earlier generation direct push rigs. Getting the tool string in the ground is only half the equation. With 42,000 pounds of retraction force, you can rest assured that your sample will see the light of day! The power of these machines make obtaining hard-to-reach samples through tough conditions a consistent reality.
Truck
Our GP6600 unit is mounted on an F-450 and has been custom-designed to carry all necessary tooling, supplies and hardware to complete your field project in one trip. We’ve even included a field manager’s station for our clients to use as they evaluate and screen soil samples, collect ground water, and complete their field logs.
or Track
Our GP6620DT unit is compact and powerful. Mounted on rubber tracks, the unit is only FIVE FEET WIDE, allowing for rig access to almost anywhere! Outfitted with an overhead mast, winch line, hydraulic liner extruder, and drop hammer, this rig is ready for nearly anything our clients can throw at it!
Versatility of Augers
A feature that is unique to the 6600-series machines is the ability to turn up to 6.25-inch hollow-stem augers with a quick pull of a pin on the drive head. One of the great benefits of this feature is that Kodiak can significantly reduce your field investigation costs by mobilizing only one rig to the job site. First, using the probe, one can quickly characterize the soil and ground water at a given site. Then put away the probe, pull the pin, and you’re ready to set some wells!
You not only have greatly reduced the amount of waste generated during the investigation by using the probe to complete the soil borings, but you have saved precious time (and money) by being more flexible, efficient, and productive than your competition - completing two significant field tasks during the same mobilization.
The use of augers also allows Kodiak to collect various forms of geotechnical data for our clients, as needed. Using a drop hammer, the unit can complete ASTM-protocol Standard Penetration Tests often required for site design work. These tools provide a valuable resource for our site development and engineering clients.
We Keep You In Mind
Since we’ve been on “the other side of the Probe” directing field efforts, screening samples, and filling sample jars, we recognize the value of work space comforts. Therefore, we have designed several “field-friendly” devices to help make your day in the field go a bit smoother. We’ve added a Field Manager Station to serve as your mobile field office. This adjustable station provides room for field staff to easily view, log, screen, and collect samples. It is located close enough to the equipment operator to effectively communicate, yet is safely located out of the work zone.
Another feature we offer is custom-designed sample liner rack. No more squatting over a cooler or tailgate, or down on your hands and knees on the pavement fumbling with a sharp knife trying to open the sample liners We take care of opening all of the liners for you using the liner rack. Mounted on the opposite side of the rig from the Field Manager Station, the rack allows us to quickly extract the liners from the sampling barrel, cut them open, and deliver them to you for review. Not only does this take the some of the burden off of your field staff, but it helps to ensure that the day goes by without injury or time lost chasing a muddy PVC liner with a dull knife as it rolls across the parking lot.
